The turn of the year marks a time for many of us to reflect on the time that has passed and make plans and set goals for the new year.

Dance – Dance-style fitness classes are not just great fun, but there is lots of research now that confirms this type of activity can have a positive effect on reducing the risk of dementia and improving mood. It is also a great way to forget your troubles and enjoy the music. Classes such as ‘Aerobics’, ‘BEATZ’, ‘Zumba’ and ‘Belly Dancing’ all fit into this category.
Toning – Most classes will improve your overall muscle tone, but classes such as weighted workout and ‘Legs Bums and Tums’ will work specifically with weights to music, to encourage inch loss, delayed onset of osteoporosis and improved weight control. Getting a Sweat On – Cardiovascular training is the more traditional way to exercise. Short bursts of activity with controlled rests between gives you a chance to challenge yourself but also work at your own level. ‘Box FIT’ uses this principle with the added fun of boxing moves using gloves, pads and kick pads and ‘HIIT STEP’ is choreographed to music using steps and your own body weight.
