We are now almost ready to welcome you back into the gym so I wanted to make you aware of everything we have planned for you to give you the best possible experience but also keep you safe.
Before I list all the procedures, I wanted to thank you once again for supporting us as a business throughout this crisis and thank you for all the positive feedback on the live workouts, videos, emails and 1-1 zoom sessions I have been providing. I am pleased so many of you found them beneficial.
Things to be aware of with regard to your membership:
- We have changed our opening hours slightly and for the moment, we will be closing on a Tuesday evening at 5.30pm. We are hoping we will get back to normal soon, but please bear this in mind if you like to visit in the evenings. Our opening hours are currently
Monday 9.30 am – 8.30 pm
Tuesday 9.30 am – 5.30 pm
Wednesday 9.30 am – 8.30 pm
Thursday 9.30 am – 8.30 pm
Friday 9.30 am – 5.30 pm
Saturday 9.00 am – 5.00 pm
- The group exercise classes will not be starting yet so there will be no additional classes in the studio when we first open. LDC Dance will be starting some of their children classes in the studio in August.
- We will continue to freeze your membership fee at £10 per month until the end of September and I will also continue to send you the video links and invitations for the live zoom classes and the Monday motivation to help you get in tip top condition now things are getting a bit closer to normal. You will also still have the opportunity to book in for a 20 minute zoom call with me if you need any help.
- Virtual spinning will be back! So you will be able to join in a spin class at any time in complete safety. If you have not tried the virtual spin classes before I would highly recommend you have a go. Its very easy to set up but if you need any help just let us know.
- Things have not changed dramatically in the gym but I recognise that we may all be a little rusty after such a long break. I will be offering you a FREE PROGRAMME REVIEW with me on SATURDAY 25th JULY or MONDAY 27th JULY so I can refresh your programme and introduce you to any changes. I can take a maximum of 4 for each session so its important that you book in. Appointments are available between 9am and 1pm on Saturday 25th and between 9.30am and 1pm on Monday 27th, please call or email reception to book your place.
WHAT IS DIFFERENT IN THE GYM?
The gym equipment and spin bikes have all been spaced to ensure they are a minimum of 1 meter apart. The steps and the big blue mat have been removed, and there are two steps and the trampette in the middle of the circuit so you just need to keep going to the centre of the room in between each station. If you need a mat for floor work the silver mats are still there, please use the sanitiser on these before and after you use them.
4+4 RULE
I have thought long and hard about how we limit numbers in the gym. As you will be aware, we have an exclusive membership so there are rarely large groups in the gym. Taking into account the social distancing requirement, a cautious approach is to allow 4 people on the gym circuit at any one time and 4 people on the spin bikes. i.e. 8 people at any one time in total. We can still comply and take more people (up to 12) but I would rather be cautious and keep you all safe at this point.
As we promote a 30-minute workout time, this means that the absolute maximum time you would need to wait to enter would be half an hour but this would only be the case if all 8 people had arrived at the same time which I think is very unlikely. If you arrived and there were 4 people on the gym circuit but only one person on a bike, you could still enter the gym and warm up on one of the bikes or do some stretching ready to start.
Alternatively, you could wait a few minutes in reception. Therefore, I would like to try without a booking system to see how we get on, with a view that I will change it if it becomes a problem. I hope you agree.
The most popular times are 9.30am in the morning and around 6pm in the evening so I ask that you you will be considerate to your fellow members and be flexible with your workout times where you can to give opportunity to everyone to utilise the most popular times.
NEW SAFETY PROCEDURES
- Please arrive in your workout kit where possible to avoid use of the changing rooms
- Please bring the minimum of possessions with you where possible.
- Use the sanitising station as you enter the building
- Whilst masks are mandatory in shops, please wear a mask to walk through the reception area and travel up the stairs where social distancing may be difficult. You can remove it once you are in the gym
- Wash your hands at the wash station in the gym before you start your workout and again when you finish
- You MUST sign in and sign out the gym to comply with the mandatory TRACK AND TRACE procedure. All we need is your full name, the time you arrive and the time you leave. You do not need to leave any personal details as you are a member.
- Maximum number in the gym to observe social distancing at this point is 8. This is based on a 4 plus 4 rule. 4 on the gym circuit and 4 on the bikes. (see notes above on 4+4 rule)
- Anti bacterial spray and paper towel is readily available for you to use as always. That does not change.
- Filtered water will still be available but you will need to bring your own water bottle as we have removed the cups.
- There are steps and trampette in the centre of the circuit. Please go to the centre in between each machine as the other steps have been removed to observe social distancing.
- There are silver mats for you to use if required. Please use the anti-bacterial spray before and after use.
- When you have finished your workout, please wash your hands at the hand wash station and sign out before you leave.
- Don’t forget to take your water bottle and personal belongings with you.
I hope that I have covered everything! If you have any questions or queries, or you would like to book in for a free programme review with me next Saturday 25th or Monday 27th please email me at reception@renu.uk.com.
I cannot wait to see you all bring some life back into our lovely gym again soon,
With very best wishes, Claire
